Once Upon a Time ... in Hollywood

September 13, 14, 15

Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood visits 1969 Los Angeles, where everything is changing, as TV star Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio) and his longtime stunt double Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt) make their way around an industry they hardly recognize anymore. The ninth film from the writer-director features a large ensemble cast and multiple storylines in a tribute to the final moments of Hollywood's golden age.

Are Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio's characters based on real people?

No. In the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood movie, aging actor Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio) and his longtime stunt double Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt) are both fictional characters. However, Dalton lives next door to thriving actress Sharon Tate (Margot Robbie), who is based on the real-life Hollywood star murdered by members of the Manson Family on August 9, 1969. In the film, she thrives in 1969's free-spirited Hollywood, while Tinseltown has left the washed-up Dalton longing for the place he once knew.
