Movie: The Princess Bride (1987)
Witty, fast-paced, and endlessly quotable, The Princess Bride is a cult classic that somehow manages to be both a send-up and celebration of fairy tales. With razor-sharp humor, unforgettable characters, and a story that never loses its charm, it’s easy to see why audiences still rate it among the most rewatchable films of all time. Sword fights, true love, revenge — what more could you want?
Rated PG, 1 hour, 38 minutes
Remembering director Rob Reiner. His work on The Princess Bride is a standout example of how deeply he understood tone, character, and timing as a filmmaker. His career spanned sharp comedies, heartfelt dramas, and some of the most quoted films of the last few decades, and this movie captures that range in a single, remarkably light-on-its-feet story. Even as audiences discover and rediscover his other films, The Princess Bride remains one of the clearest reflections of his wit, warmth, and instinct for creating movies people return to again and again.
